Na liście kandydatów do otrzymania tegorocznej Pokojowej Nagrody Nobla znalazł się Internet. Jego kandydaturę włoskie wydanie magazynu Wired uzasadniło zasługami w "dialogu, debacie i konsensusie". Jak na razie nie wiadomo kto odbierze nagrodę w razie wygranej Internetu.
